Al-Zarqa Exchange (Hikmat Nawras & Partners Co) is one of the leading foreign exchange companies in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, representing an extension of the remarkable growth witnessed by the business of the Zarqa Exchange Group for nearly 80 years.

The company was established in the city of Zarqa in 1942 and was founded by the “late Hikmat Jamal Nawras “Abu Jamal

The company provided the service of buying and selling currencies in addition to selling various goods such as food supplies, clothes and others.

In the beginning, the name of the company was (A thousand and one items), and in the year 1960 it changed directions and exchange became the main business of the company. It continued in the traditional exchange business of buying and selling Arab and foreign currencies until 1988.

In 1993 the company returned to provide its services again after a closure of nearly five years, according to a law issued in 1988, whereby all exchange companies operating in the Kingdom at that time were closed.

In the same year, Mr. “Mohammed Gamal Hikmat Nawras” took over the general management of the company and is still the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company to this day.

The company has contributed to meeting the requirements of customers and trading partners related to foreign exchange and remittances.

Since then, the company has made rapid strides to consolidate its position as one of the largest exchange companies in the Kingdom.
